Do I need quarantine to move my pet within the EU?
No, if your pet is compliant: microchip, valid rabies vaccination respecting the 21-day rule, and a pet passport. Non-compliant animals can be quarantined or refused at the owner's expense, which is why the checklist matters more than the packing.
How early should I start planning?

Can my French Bulldog (or Persian cat) fly?

What is an Animal Health Certificate and what does it cost?
The post-Brexit document for taking a pet from Great Britain to the EU: issued within 10 days of travel, valid for one trip (4 months of onward EU travel), and priced between GBP 89 and 350 at UK practices, typically GBP 100 to 200.
Is my old EU pet passport still valid after the April 2026 rule change?
Yes. Older-model passports issued before 22 April 2026 remain valid, and vets can keep issuing the older model during a transition running to 1 January 2028.
Can my pet travel without me?
Under EU non-commercial rules, only if you travel within 5 days of your pet (an authorised person may accompany them). Otherwise the movement is legally commercial, with stricter certification, which is exactly what professional, authorised transporters (and Pawport's panel) handle.
